Builders’ merchants have a wealth of knowledge and experience. However many people mistakenly think you can only visit one if you’re a tradesmen. Well, that’s not the case.
Merchants across the country, including Jewson, are open to the public. So not only can you find a wide range of building materials in branch – but there’s the chance to benefit from the same expert advice as the professionals.
You may be surprised to learn just how many members of the public we welcome though the doors of our 600 branches on a daily basis. Nothing can replace good old fashioned, face-to-face guidance from someone who has experience and distinct expertise. Whether that’s about choosing the right materials for the job, making sure you’ve got the correct tools or tips on how to achieve a professional finish.
When you do visit your local merchant, you’ll realise that you’re made to feel part of the community. Even for merchants with hundreds of branches, each individual branch is a community in its own right where customers and staff interact. It’s this sense of community that will probably feature high on the list of reasons why customers – trade and members of the public - return time and time again.
It’s also worthwhile noting that you don’t just have to deal with a merchant in your local branch – but online as well. Slowly but surely, social media has crept into our working lives and every year we’re seeing an increase in the number of DIY’ers taking advantage of social media to ask questions and get updates on what’s going at local branches as well as on-line facilities to purchase tools and materials.
