Fence Posts

I planned to replace the fencing in my rear garden and required a product that was easy to use whilst also being cost effective. I was advised by a number of builders and builders merchants to use Lafarge Postcrete.

I could not believe how easy the product was to use, No mixing or heavy work involved, all I needed to do was to position the post, half fill the hole with water, and pour in the Postcrete. In addition to the massive reduction in labour, within five minutes the Postcrete had set and I was able to insert the panels. Within a day I had single handedly managed to replace all of the posts within my back garden and completed the job.

By using traditional concrete it would have taken the best part of a week to get the posts in, and then I would have had to wait for 24 hours for the concrete to have set before I could have placed the fence panels in place.

Shed Base

We recently put down a shed base using Lafarge High Strength Concrete at Shelly First School in Huddersfield. The mixing and lay of the concrete was so straight forward with no worries about mix quantities – in fact the digging was the hardest bit!! All we had to do was open the bag put in mixer add water and pour, really easy even for a rank amateur like me.

Electric box

As a complete beginner to brickworking I was a little apprehensive about tackling my first project, a brick surround to secure a new electric point. With the help of the Product Calculators I stocked up on Mastercrete and sand and after watching the techniques on the DIY Cement How To videos I started work. I was pleasantly surprised to find I was well prepared thanks to the videos and the first layer of brickwork was completed within just a few hours. Thanks to the plastic packaging the Mastercrete could be left outside until the next day when I completed the second layer of bricks. The box is still standing which is a testament to how simple it really is with the right preparation!
